Potchefstroom - Two historical rondavels from the Anglo-Boer War period have been destroyed in a fire authorities suspect may have been deliberately started. The rondavels were in the Venterskroon area, where British soldiers and General Christiaan De Wet were stationed at different times during the war. The Parys and Potchefstroom Fire Departments were called out at roughly 3 o'clock this morning. The last of two other fires which had been raging in the Vredefort Dome area since Sunday were also extinguished this morning.
