The Department of Environmental Affairs has renewed its call for action by all South Africans against the ongoing scourge of rhino poaching.
The appeal comes ahead of the third annual World Rhino Day tomorrow.
Environmental Affairs spokesperson, Albie Modise, says the latest statistics on rhinos poached for the year stand at 388, with Kruger National Park having lost 241 rhinos since the beginning of the year.
He says North West, Limpopo and KwaZulu-Natal continue to be targeted by poachers, collectively accounting for 119 of the total number of rhinos poached this year.
