Bloemfontein - The daughter of the elderly couple who were attacked and stabbed during a house robbery in Heuwelsig, Bloemfontein in the early hours of this morning, has praised the police for their quick and excellent work in apprehending the suspects.
This comes after two suspects gained access to Gordon and Annette Bazzard’s townhouse where they were attacked while they were asleep. Gordon succumbed to his stab wounds on the scene, while Annette was rushed to hospital.
Police arrested the first suspect only two hours after the incident, while the second suspect was arrested two hours ago.
The couple's daughter, Yurietta Stevens, commended the police for their brilliant service.
The two suspects, 25 and 23 years old respectively, will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court on Thursday on charges of murder, attempted murder and housebreaking.
