Bloemfontein - Proteas batsman David Miller scored the third fastest IPL century to lead the Kings XI Punjab to an unlikely victory last night.

South African batsman David Miller blasted an unbeaten 101 to steer the Kings XI Punjab to an emphatic 6-wicket win over the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Chasing a target of 191, Miller required just 38 balls to research his ton as the Punjabi side reached the target with 12 balls to spare. Miller’s innings included eight fours and seven sixes.

Miller’s innings at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali was made even more special considering his team required 96 off 42 balls at one stage.

Despite legendary Windies Chris Gayle blasting his way to 61 for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, the big man had to step-out of the limelight to make way for the young South African.

Gayle, no stranger to sensation  rewrote the history books a few weeks ago when he scored a colossal 175* off 66 deliveries to steering the Royal Challengers Bangalore to a massive 130-run victory over the Pune Warriors. Gayle hammered a record 17 sixes and 13 fours. He took two wickets for five runs in that match as well.
