ANC highlights relationship between big business, govt─── 05:46 Tue, 21 May 2013
Pretoria - The relationship between big business and government was flagged by the ANC at the its National Executive Committee meeting yesterday. ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe said dealing with powerful individuals in business is a major issue in South Africa. This after name-dropping and undue influence was blamed for the Gupta plane landing at the Waterkloof Airforce Base in Pretoria.
The names of President Jacob Zuma, as well as of the defence and transport ministers were used to advance the Gupta's request to use the base. Mantashe says the issue warrants the fallout which ensued.
