Free State's most unhygienic hospitals exposed─── 07:37 Wed, 22 May 2013

Bloemfontein - The most unhygienic hospitals in the Free State are located in Bethlehem, Kroonstad, Phuthaditjhaba and Thabong. Newly-appointed provincial health MEC Benny Malakoane handed a damning report on the condition of some Free State health facilities and services to health staff yesterday. The report came after Malakoane made unannounced visits to hospitals and clinics in the province. Malakoane says one finding which will be addressed immediately is a lack of security at the provincial medical depot, which at times reports monthly losses of up to R100 000.
The most unhygienic hospitals found on the visits were Dihlabeng Hospital in Bethlehem, Boitumelo Hospital in Kroonstad, Manapo Hospital in Phuthaditjhaba and Bongani Hospital in Thabong.
