Potchefstroom - The DA in North West today laid charges against Tlokwe Executive Mayor Maphetle Maphetle and others at the Potchefstroom police charge office.
The charges are based on findings from a forensic investigation requested by the DA during its time in charge of Tlokwe under the helm of former mayor Annette Combrink.
The report found the council allegedly irregularly bought a customized Mercedes Benz for Maphetle, worth R736 000. It further recommended formal disciplinary action against the mayor and officials.
