Sabrina Dean Bloemfontein - Mangaung Metro executive mayor Thabo Manyoni says one of the Metro’s priorities during the redevelopment of the Naval Hill precinct was to ensure the safety of residents who want to walk around there.

This was during his walkabout at Naval Hill yesterday, just prior to a ceremony during which the lights around the Mandela statue were officially turned on.

Manyoni is encouraging the residents of Mangaung to enjoy Naval Hill as their own special place to come and relax and enjoy nature.

An official attending proceedings told OFM CCTV cameras have been installed at strategic points to monitor the safety of visitors to the precinct.
