Bloemfontein - The convenor of the Platteland Preview Arts Festival in Smithfield says they are already getting inquiries about bookings for next year’s event.
Carmel Rickard says the inaugural festival, run in association with the forthcoming National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, takes place from 21-23 June, but there is already interest from performers to participate next year.
The Platteland Preview provides a platform for fringe acts to get in a last minute rehearsal while on route to Grahamstown and also provides the Free State community with exposure to theatre and the arts.
Performers receive free accommodation as well as free venues, lights and sound. Some of the shows on offer this year include Vrek, the Bram Fischer Walz, 1Waycrew, Going Gooding, Beefcake, Hoax and more.
