Bloemfontein - World number six Rory McIlroy bagged his first win of the year after a stellar comeback during the Australian Open to beat Adam Scott by one shot.
The double major winner birdied the 18th to beat the pre-tournament favourite after Scott had lead through days one to three.
World number two, Scott was leading by a stroke with one hole to play and looked certain to become only the second player ever to capture the Australian "Triple Crown".
McIlroy said he had to do something special to beat Scott.
After a dry year in golfing terms, McIroy who says he is in a better place, will be in action later this week in the Tiger Woods World Challenge at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks.
