Belgium - The chairperson of the African Union Commission, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, says the African continent is a development opportunity.
She was speaking at the 5th EU / Africa Business Forum in Belgium, ahead of tomorrow's EU / Africa summit which runs for two days.
Dlamini-Zuma said while the UN, in 2000, defined Africa as a 21st century development challenge, the continent is now a development opportunity.
However, she says there are gaps on the continent that need to be addressed if Africa is to keep growing at the current rate.
But, she says the flip side is that strong growth on the African continent has been occurring despite these infrastructure challenges.
