Roses United intend to deny Rovers a point

Bloemfontein - Roses United FC coach, Clinton Larsen, has made it clear that his side would be looking to get maximum points against Blackburn Rovers to deny them any point when the two clash in the relegation battle at Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium in Botshabelo on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 15h00.

Both teams are at the bottom of the log with 15 points apiece and will be desperate for three points to move away from the relegation zone.

In their previous matches, United were humiliated 4-1 by Santos in Cape Town and Rovers suffered a 2-1 loss to Jomo Cosmos, and will both be in search of a win.

However, Larsen told OFM Sport that they would be looking to capitalise on the home ground advantage and get all three points.

“It’s our home game. We’re going to make sure that the struggling Rovers do not come to Bloemfontein and get any point, so we can’t afford any slip-ups; we need a win,” said Larsen.

The former Celtic and Maritzburg United coach said they would be anticipating a tough encounter because a game between teams that are fighting for a position is never easy.

With five games remaining, Larsen and his bottom-placed team are still optimistic regarding their survival. However, he stressed that they would have to win all their matches if they were to survive the axe.

Another Free State side, Maluti FET College FC is also in the relegation threatening zone. They occupy the 14th spot with 25 points and they travel to Moruleng on Sunday to face United.
