Bloemfontein - The Chevrolet Knights bid farewell to three of its big guns yesterday at the conclusion of the domestic cricket season.
A gutsy performance by the Knights saw them hold off a determined Dolphins outfit to claim the second place in the Sunfoil Series.
Former Proteas all-rounder Johan van der Wath and Proteas top-order batsman played their last games for the side, while Proteas all-rounder Ryan McLaren was with the team although he didn’t play.
An emotional McLaren told OFM Sport it was quite difficult saying goodbye to the team.
36-year-old Van der Wath retired from pro cricket yesterday, with Elgar has found a new home at the Titans and McLaren will join the Knights.
