Bloemfontein - Manchester United's Wayne Rooney faces a race against time to be fit for tomorrow’s massive Champions League quarter-final, second-leg at Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in Germany.
The defending European champions Bayern suffered their first Bundesliga defeat for 18 months when they were beaten 1-0 at Augsburg on Saturday.
This comes of the back of their one-all draw against United last Tuseday at Old Trafford in the first leg of the quarter-finals.
Rooney missed the club's 4-0 over Newcastle in the English Premier League on Saturday with a bruised toe.
Should he not be fit, it will be a devastating blow to David Moyes’s Red Devils who are already without the services of Dutch striker Robin van Persie.
