Bloemfontein - Manchester United’s chance of silverware this season came to a grinding halt in the Champions League quarter-final second.
Champions Bayern Munich breezed into the Champions League semi-finals with a 3-1 victory at home to United and progress to the next round with a 4-2 aggregate.
Meanwhile, in Madrid, La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid secure their spot in the last four with a 1-0 win over Barcelona at the Vicente Calderon.
Koke scored for Athletico in the 5th minute of the tie to push their aggregate up to 2-1 over the two legs.
The two sides join Real Madrid and Chelsea in the semis.
