Bloemfontein - Springbok and Toyota Cheetahs loose forward, Heinrich Brüssow is back from injury and has been named at 8 in the Free State XV team to face Western Province XV in the Vodacom Cup match on Saturday, 12 April.

The match at City Park kicks off at 16:00.

Brüssow was out of action for nearly three months following a lengthy toe injury sustained when he was playing for his Japanese side, the Docomo Red Hurricanes.

However, the 27-year-old will not be included in the Cheetahs' Super Rugby squad as yet. Coach Naka Drotske highlighted he would not rush Brüssow’s recovery; instead allow him to get 40-50 minutes against WP.

“He will play Vodacom Cup this weekend and we’ll assess it from there,” he said.

In their last match, the Free State XV ran in eight tries to thrash the Border Bulldogs 54-17 in Bloemfontein.

Free State XV team to face WP: 15 Luke Cyster, 14 Alvin Brandt, 13 Nico Lee, 12 Niel Marais (captain), 11 Sino Ganto, 10 Riaan Smit, 9 Renier Botha, 8 Heinrich Brüssow, 7 Wayven Smith, 6 Zingisa April, 5 Waltie Vermeulen, 4 Neil Claassen, 3 Luan de Bruin, 2 Torsten van Jaarsveld, 1 Kevin Stevens.

Substitutes: 16 Hercu Liebenberg, 17 Nick Schonert, 18 Philip du Preez, 19 Peet Coetzee, 20 KK Hlongwane, 21 Joubert Engelbrecht, 22 Don Mlondobozi
