Ten killed in FS accident─── 12:39 Thu, 17 Apr 2014
Bethlehem - At least 10 people were killed in an accident on the R707 Petrus Steyn-Lindley road when the taxi they were travelling in collided with a truck last night.
Free State police spokesperson, Mmako Mophiring, said five other people were seriously injured and admitted to the Dihlabeng Regional Hospital in Bethlehem.
It is alleged that the driver of the truck, which was transporting potatoes to a farm in Bethlehem, lost control and collided with the taxi that was destined for Lesotho.
The taxi driver and nine passengers were declared dead at the scene. The truck driver was uninjured.
The names of the deceased cannot be released until their next-of-kin have been informed.
A case of culpable homicide is being investigated.
