French journalists released from Syria after year─── 07:49 Sun, 20 Apr 2014
Four French journalists held captive in Syria for almost a year have been freed and are on their way home.
BBC reports French President Francois Hollande says he has "learned with great relief this morning of the liberation of the four French journalists".
He says Edouard Elias, Didier Francois, Nicolas Henin and Pierre Torres are "in good health".
The four men had been held hostage in Syria since June 2013.
They were reported to have been found blindfolded with their hands bound by Turkish soldiers patrolling the border with Syria.
The jihadist group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) have been accused of kidnapping them.
