Traffic on major routes expected to increase today

───   07:55 Sun, 20 Apr 2014

Bloemfontein - Traffic volumes are expected to increase on major routes today.

Road Traffic Management Corporation spokesperson Thato Mosena says the R71 between Polokwane and Makhado will be especially busy as most members of the Zion Christian Church will be returning to their various destinations.

Other routes that will also be busy in Central SA are the N3 between Durban and Johannesburg and the N1 between Bloemfontein and Cape Town.

Mosena says law enforcement officers from all the three tiers of government will be on high visibility and alert, maintaining law and order.

She also appeals to travellers to plan their trips prudently and also to depart for their destination earlier, missing peak traffic congestion.
