Bloemfontein - The Toyota Cheetahs have bolstered their ranks with the signing of former Stormers utility back, Joe Pietersen.
The player with more than a 100 top flight rugby matches to his name, will be joining the side from the newly relegated French Top 14 club, Biarritz for next seasons Super Rugby.
Meanwhile, the Bloemfontein-based side claimed the woodenspoon in the South African conference after losing to the Lions in Johannesburg.
The Lions convincingly thumped the Cheetahs 60-25 on Saturday to see Naka Drotské’s chargers claim the 14th spot overall.
On the other end of the log, the Sharks face the Highlanders in Durban in the play-offs this weekend after beating the Stormers 34-10 at Newlands to top the SA Conference and finish third overall.
