Bloemfontein - Proteas batsman-wicketkeeper, AB de Villiers, looks set to be fit ahead of the first test ahead against Sri Lanka, which gets underway in Galle, Sri Lanka tomorrow.
De Villiers has been battling with a stiff hamstring since the first One Day International and is being monitored.
The medical team, however, is confident that the top-order batsman will be fine for the five-day version of the game.
Meanwhile, seamer Vernon Philander believes striking with the new ball early tomorrow will be the key on the tracks traditionally conducive to spin instead of pace.
The weather conditions in Galle have been hot and humid with occasional showers, and Philander is hoping it could bring swing into the equation.
Play at the Galle International Cricket Stadium gets underway at 6:30 tomorrow morning.
