Theunissen - The case against two alleged diamond dealers who appeared in the Theunissen Magistrate's Court yesterday on a charge of illegal dealing in diamonds has been postponed until next week.

Free State police spokesperson, Stephen Thakeng, says Modise Phara (38) and Thabo Mohoaladi (37) both from Theunissen were arrested on Saturday in a police operation lead by Crime Intelligence Gathering (CIG) from Bloemfontein and a Tactical Reaction Team (TRT) from Welkom.

The suspects were in possession of 13 diamonds. The value of the seized diamond is unknown for now.

Thakeng says the case is still under investigation by the police's organized crime unit in Welkom.

The suspects will be back in court on Monday for a formal bail application.
