Bloemfontein - Toyota Cheetahs and Springbok hooker, Adriaan Strauss’s move to the Bulls, has not been set in stone, and the player may very well be staying on Bloemfontein.
The Bulls confirmed the moves of Trevor Nyakane and Lappies Labuschagné to the Jacaranda City, in deals that will see them there until 2017 and ’16 respectively.
However, the three Super Rugby champions have remained mum of Strauss’s move.
Reports are indicating that the Cheetahs have significantly upped the players’ contract offer at the franchise, thanks to intervention by local businessmen.
The player himself has indicated that he hasn’t made his mind up on the move, but should have an answer in this week.
Meanwhile, Torsten van Jaarveld was named at the Free State Cheetahs captain for the 2014 Currie Cup campaign, which get underway on 9 August against the Pumas in Nelspruit at the Mbombela Stadium.
Next week Saturday, the Cheetahs will face the Kings in a warm-up match in Craddock.
