Today's artist got her first big professional break when she was invited to perform on Peter Gabriel's 1993-1994 Secret World Live tour. Her hit single “Where have all the cowboys gone” made us all take notice of her vocal talent.
 
Today’s song spent 56 weeks in the top 50, is among the list of the 32 songs in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 to have had a chart run longer than 50 weeks. VH1 ranked it as one of the 100 Greatest Songs of the '90s at #81.
 
Today’s song may be from 1996 but it really shot to fame in 1998 as the title song from the teen tv series “Dawson’s Creek” which aired till 2003. The show was part of a new craze for teen-themed movies and television shows in America in the late 1990s, and catapulted its leads to stardom.
 
 
Paula Cole was born in Rockport, Massachusetts in 1968. She wrote, produced and performed her song "I don't want to wait" from her 1996 album “This Fire” and in 1997 she won a Grammy Award for “Best new artist” - here is the video! Take a look!
