Throwback Thursday - this is murder on the dancefloor... | News Article
We go back in time with a song that broke the charts and made us dance in 2001. Here are a few things you probably did not know about Sophie Ellis-Baxtor. The tattoo on her right arm, of a red heart and the word "Family", was done to match her wedding dress. She auditioned for the 2001 movie Moulin Rouge! for the part of Satine. However Nicole Kidman received the role instead.

She first came to prominence in the late 1990s, as the lead singer of the indie rock band Theaudience.

The song "Murder on the dancefloor" peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart, stayed on the charts for twenty-three weeks, and became the most played song of 2002 in all of Europe.

The music video centres around a dance competition. The winner's prize consists of a pair of golden high-heel shoes and a substantial amount of money. Take a look :)

Nominate your song via email yolanda@ofm.co.za I look forward to hear from you!
