Lesotho's King Letsie thanks SADC for bringing stability to the mountain kingdom─── SABRINA DEAN 15:55 Fri, 17 Oct 2014
Maseru - Despite scepticism from certain sectors, Lesotho’s Parliament was reconvened without a hitch this morning after having been suspended since June.
Although the atmosphere was one of excitement, there were clear divisions as MPs gathered in front of Parliament House in Maseru with King Letsie III and South African Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa for a rare group photo session prior to proceedings.
The King then delivered his opening speech with Ramaphosa seated to the right of his throne. Letsie thanked the region for its efforts in bringing stability to the mountain kingdom.
Parliament will reconvene next week again for the sole purpose of budgeting and planning for the early elections in February 2015. It is expected to be dissolved early in December.
