Namibia's Swapo set to win elections─── 06:24 Mon, 01 Dec 2014
Windhoek - Namibia's ruling South West Africa People's Organisation (Swapo) is on course to win the country's election with over seventy percent of votes.
With 40 percent of the official results released by late Sunday night, Swapo was leading parliamentary results with 76.2 percent, followed by the Democratic Turnhalle Alliance (DTA) with 6.5 percent, up from 3.1 percent on 2009.
The Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) Party collected 3.8 percent, losing 7.5 percent since its election debut on 2009, where it achieved 11.3 percent.
In the presidential race Swapo party candidate Hage Geingob, the incumbent prime minister, to date received an overwhelming 86.2 percent of votes, nearly ten percent more than his party.
Youthful DTA president McHenry Venaani, 37, was second with 5.3 percent of votes behind his name.
RDP president Hidipo Hamutenya received 3.5 percent so far.
Votes of a whole region, Kavango East, have not yet been verified and audited.
