Kenyan police offer bounty for Garissa attack mastermind | News Article

Nairobi - Police have offered a KES 5m (R650 000) bounty for the person suspected to be the mastermind behind the Garissa University College attack in Garissa, Kenya.

Police have asked Kenyans to help them apprehend one Mohammed Kuno, also known as Gamadhere, who is accused of masterminding the attack.

Kuno is said to have been at the lead of the attacks and is currently on the run from Kenyan authorities.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery said the bounty will encourage Kenyans to be vigilant in looking for Kuno all over the country.

"The bounty is KES 5m [R650 000] and we ask any person with information on his whereabouts to inform the police as soon as possible," he said on Thursday.

The attack thus far has seen 20 people killed with the number set to rise over the next few days.
