Bloemfontein - South African runner, Norman Modise, has yet again waved the Free State flag up high at the recent KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Senior and Masters Championships where he clinched two gold medals.

The Bloemfontein-based runner came out first in the 10 000m and 5000m races at King’s Park Stadium, and following his success at the Gauteng Championships, he was hoping for the same performance in KZN.

Modise endured major success at the Gauteng Masters Championships in Pretoria earlier last month, where he bagged gold medals in the 3000m as well in the 1500m races. Therefore, he was confident ahead of the KZN Championships.

Speaking to OFM Sport, Modise said his focus now shifts to the South African Masters Championships where he is hoping to keep the momentum going.

“The Gauteng Masters Championships thoroughly prepared me for the KZN event. Although it was not easy, I had to work hard to keep the momentum going, and I am glad hard work paid off,” said Modise.

"I am looking forward to the SA Championships," he added.

The event will take place in Rustenburg on 25-26 April.
