Rossouw's India tour in jeopardy | News Article

Proteas top order batsman, Rilee Rossouw’s tour to India with the national side later this month may be in jeopardy.

The player is carrying a foot injury which is being monitored at the moment.

Rossouw recently featured in New Zealand’s tour to South Africa where he once again cemented his spot in the top order.

It is confirmed that the hard-hitting batsman was already carrying the injury during the series against the Black Caps and there are fears that it may be a stress-fracture.

Rossouw, who was named as the VKB Knights Most Valuable Player of the Season on Wednesday evening during the teams annual awards function at Emoya Estate could be side-lined for up to eight weeks.

Should this be the case, Rossouw will miss the T20 International series against India on the subcontinent and the beginning of the One-Day International series.

Meanwhile, Knights wicketkeeper Rudi Second was named as the side Player’s Player of the Year last night for his outstanding season which saw him earning a call-up to the South African A team.

Second told OFM Sport that he hoping to emulate his good season.

The South African domestic season starts on Friday with Easterns hosting Western Province at Willowmoore Park in Benoni in the opening game of the inaugural Africa T20 Cup.
