Bloemfontein - An agri business conference in Bloemfontein has heard that the global trend in increasing per capita income is set to continue in future and will also unlock numerous opportunities for the agriculture sector.
This is according to PWC economic advisor, Roelof Botha, who says this, coupled with other trends such as diet revolutions across the world, means the future may be brighter than it seems:

Botha also told delegates it is important to look into adding value to their products.
He used soya beans as an example, saying there is potential for much greater profit if one takes the process one step further to produce soya bean oil, adding that this also allows producers to take advantage of incentives by the Department of Trade and Industry or tax rebates.
Other speakers at today’s conference include Grain SA CEO Jannie de Villiers, honourary Professor in Agricultural economics Andre Louw and Std Bank head of Agri Business Nico Groenewald.
