Bloemfontein - Anticipation is growing ahead of today’s announcement of South Africa’s next test captain.
One-day International captain, AB de Villiers, appears to be the front runner for the role, while Hashim Amla has also entered the fray.
Cricket South Africa's board meets in Johannesburg this morning to approve the new skipper, before it will be announced at approximately 12h30.
At the same time, South Africa’s squad to tour Sri Lanka next month will be announced.
South African cricketing great, Jacques Kallis, is reportedly already in the squad, which cloud see the inclusion of Simon Harmer or Dane Piedt as back-up spinner.
The tour will comprise of two Tests and three ODIs, with the first ODI taking place in Colombo on 6 July.
