South Africa look to continue Zimbabwe dominance | News Article

Bloemfontein - Proteas spinner, Imran Tahir, is full of confidence following his performance in the Triangular series match against Australia on Wednesday.

The Proteas are looking to remain focussed on Zimbabwe in today’ ODI in the Triangular-series in Harare.

Coming of the back of their massive 7 wicket win over Australia the side want don’t want to get too ahead of themselves.

Spinner, Imran Tahir, who was the pick of the bowlers against the men from down-under is feeling confident.

Speaking from Harare, the Pakistan-born spinner said he is in a good space and looks forward to bowling on the spinner friendly deck again.

“ I’m honoured to be part of this talented team. I have been working hard on my fitness and bowling and I’m glad that it went well for me. If I keep putting in the hard work hopefully the results will continue to come.”

“ I always feel that my role is a bit attacking but I can take wickets even in Tests. Things didn’t go my way in a few series but I’m positive. I’m not going to give up; I will continue to give my best to try and justify my place again. I’m in a good space, I’m not thinking about Test cricket at the moment, just focusing on the current series.”

“ We are in a really good space as a squad,” Tahir said. “ After the win yesterday the belief has gotten stronger. Every game matters, even when we play against Zimbabwe, who can be a dangerous side. We have to take every game seriously.”

This mornings' ODI against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Grounds gets underway at 9:30.
