Star batsman Hashim Amla did not travel with the team after going down-under with his family a few days prior.
Coach Russell Domingo is of the view that his squad is well-balanced and will have each other backs when the chips are down.
“They’ve won games under high pressure situations, under different conditions at different venues”, Domingo added.
South Africa face Sri Lanka on Monday at Hagley Oval in Chirstchurch in a warm-up match, before their opener against Zimbabwe in Hamilton next Sunday.
Co-hosts Zealand and Sri Lanka will lock-horns in the tournaments opening match on 14 February.
