South Africa seamer, Morné Morkel returned to his very best last night in the opening match of the 2015 Indian Premier League with his Kolkata Knight Riders beating the Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets.

Morkel, who had a good world cup was the mainstay in the Kolkata attack as they restricted Mumbai to 168 for 3 in their 20 overs at Eden Gardens. 
 
The tall South African return figures of two for 18 in his four overs, while Rohit Sharma scored 98 not out for Mumbai.
 
Morkel’s first delivery of the 2015 edition  was hit for a boundary by the Mumbai Indians’ Australian opener, Aaron Finch. But from there on out it was all Morkel.
 
He removed Finch for five runs in with the third ball of the second over, and finished his spell with no less than 15 dot balls. 
 
After the match Morkel said it's always special player at a packed Eden Gardens.
  
“It is a special feeling to be playing here at the Eden Gardens. There is just something about this ground. It is just amazing. I thought it was great entertainment for the spectators who came out to support us,”  
 
Gautum Gambir captain lead the Kolkata chase with 57 from 43 delivers to chase down the target with nine balls remaining.
 
Following the match, Gambir said he was happy with his teams’ efforts, but conceded that there is room for improvement in the fielding.
 
Today’s match will see the Chennai Super Kings in action against the Delhi Daredevils in Chennai.
