England has taken control of the first test against the West Indies at North Sound in Antigua.
 
At stumps on day one, the English ever on 341/5 thanks on magnificent 143 runs by number four basman, Ian Bell.
 
Bell hit 20 fours and one six in his knock to set up the strong tally, while Joe Root added 83 New Zealand born all-rounder Ben Stokes was unbeaten on 71 at the close of the days play.
 
South African-born Jonathan Trott, who along with Stokes toured South Africa earlier this year if the English Lions, lasted just five balls, after being dismissed for a duck in his long awaited return to test cricket.
 
Jerome Taylor and Kemar Roach each have two wickets for the Windies, will Jason Holder has one scalp.
