Arthur keen on England coaching job | News Article

Former Free State opening batsman and cricket captain, Mickey Arthur has admitted that his is interested in the England coaching job.

The former South African and Australian national coach said he would be prepared to discuss the vacant England position with the England and Wales Cricket Board.
 
South African-born former England captain Andrew Strauss' first job after being appointed as director of English cricket was to axe former coach Peter Moores.
 
Strauss has since revealed Yorkshire head coach and former Australian seamer Jason Gillespie is in line to replace Moores as mentor of the national side.
 
Arthur insists the vacant job is a wonderful opportunity for the right candidate.
 
In an interview with the BBC, Arthur said he thinks what England needs is form someone to take things by the scruff of the neck and lead the team.
 
The 46-year-old added that he believes England would far more competitive team with Kevin Pietersen in the mix.
