Knights pedal for charity─── 08:37 Wed, 10 Jun 2015
The Knights are undertaking to cycle 600km’s in 15 hours on a Wattbike next week in aid of charity.
The central cricket franchise will see 12 of its team members attempt to tackle 40 km’s each hour in order to complete the distance.
The team are undertaking the challenge in conjunction with the Sports Performance Clinic and the Love Lettie Fund to raise awareness for breast cancer.
Morné Castelyn of the Knights and SPC explained that a normal gym bike works on revs per minute, while the Wattbike works on watts generated and according to the him and the players its’ a lot tougher.
Knights seamer, Quinton Friend who has over 350 first class wickets to his name told OFM Sport that doing it for a good cause is a joy and not a challenge.
Both Friend and Castelyn are also of the view that Proteas batsman, Reeza Hendricks will take the most strain during the challenge.
