Bloemfontein - Grain producers are still anticipating a lower than average crop this year but will only have a clear indication once more concrete harvest figures are available.

Grain SA CEO Jannie de Villiers says although some producers have started harvesting maize, most of the crop is still too wet:

He says on the upside, late rains do seem to have savaged some of the sunflower and soya crops:
