The stage is set for 6th Joberg2C mountain bike race | News Article

The stage is set for the 2015 joBerg2C mountain bike which starts just outside of Johannesburg on Friday.

The grueling 900km nine-day mountain ride runs all the way from Heidelberg to Scottsburgh in KwaZulu-Natal.

The 6th edition of the ride will see 800 riders competing of which 100 are foreigners from 20 different countries.

Craig Wapnick of JoBerg2C told OFM Sport that they are excited ahead of Friday’s start which will see the Free State as the heart of the ride.

While the ride is not for the fainthearted, Wanpick is of the view that the ride will change anyone who competes.

“This is a ride that literally changes lives,” said Wapnick.

“Aside from having the ride of your life through this amazing country, many people also ride to raise money and awareness for causes that are close to their hearts.

“There are many courageous human beings who will ride the Old Mutual joBerg2c.”

The first stage runs from Karan Reef to the Frankfort Sport Grounds. OFM will keep you up to date with the daily proceedings.
