Lyle Rowe leads the field after day two at the Origins of Golf | News Article
Lyle Rowe completed a second-round seven-under-par 65 on Friday to take a one-stroke lead into the final round of the Origins of Golf tournament at Parys Golf and Country Estate.

Play was suspended in the second round on Thursday with a handful of players still out on the course as a storm came
in and made further play impossible.

Rowe was on the 18th tee at the suspension, but he returned to the course in the morning and birdied the last hole to lead Attie Schwartzel by a single shot.

Also completing their rounds were first-round leader Anthony Michael and Dean Burmester.

Michael carded a level-par 72 to join Schwartzel in a share of second, and Burmester's second-successive three-under 69 also vaulted him into a share of second.

Rowe's superb 65 came with just a single dropped shot -- a bogey on the 17th after hitting his tee-shot into the trees along the banks of the Vaal River.

He had made seven birdies up to that point and he rectified his 17th-hole error with his closing birdie.

Looming a further two shots back was veteran Ulrich van den Berg, who completed a three-under-par 69 to go with his opening 71.

Central Media Groups CEO, Gary Stroebel was lying in the second spot after the day two of the amateur competition.
