Bloemfontein - South African golfer, Louis Oosthuizen netted a whopping R7,3 million yesterday at the Durban Country Club when he successfully defended the Volvo Golf Champions title to bag the European Tour's first event of the year.
Oosthuizen carded a final round of four under par 68 to take his overall total to 12 under par for the tournament.
Fellow South African and former champion Brandon Grace also fired a round of four under par 68 to finish in second, just one shot off the lead and net a handsome cheque of R4,8 million.
The Mossel Bay pro was two shots behind third-round leader Tommy Fleetwood from England at the start of the final round, while Grace - seven shots back after an opening 74 - had made up ground on the front runners and began the final round three off the pace.
England’s Fleetwood and the Netherland’s Joost Luiten were tied in third at ten under par.
