Ahlers wins to book a spot for the Million Dollar─── 09:11 Mon, 01 Dec 2014
Jaco Ahlers carded a final of four under par 68 at the Royal Cape Golf Club to win the Lion of Africa Cape Town Open and book his place in this weeks’ Nedbank Golf Challenge.
Ahlers who started playing golf at age of 11 at Skukuza Golf Club in the Kruger National Park beat South Africa’s Hennie Otto and England’s Ross Mc Gowen on the fourth play-off hole after the trio finished the tournament on 12 under par.
Apart from his share of the R1,5 million prize money for the win, the biggest reward however is getting the 30th and final place in the field for Africa’s Open which tees off at the Gary Player country county at Sun City.
The Million dollar golf tournament in the Pilanesberg tees off on Thursday morning.
