Last week’s Tshwane Open champion George Coetzee has hit the ground running again this week by sharing the lead of the Investec Cup after yesterday’s first round.
Coetzee and 2011 Masters winner Charl Schwartzel both carded a round of four under par 68 at the Millvale Private Retreat at Koster, near Rustenburg to hold a three stroke lead over Justin Harding and Shaun Norris.
Bloemfontein’s Dean Burmester as well as Keith Horne, Jean Hugo and Jaco Ahlers are further short back on even par 72 in tied fifth.
The first two rounds of the tournament will be played at Millvale, with the final two rounds at the Lost City.
The tournament is the climax to the year-long Chase to the Investec Cup, with the top 30 points earners battling it out for the R 1 million tournament prize.
