Burmester has Olympic dreams heading into Mauritius Open | News Article

Bloemfontein-based professional golfer, Dean Burmester, jets off to Mauritius this morning to play in the inaugural tri-sanctioned Mauritius Open at the Heritage Course.

The player who currently is sixth in the Sunshine Tour’s Order of Merit has being experiencing his best start to the tour since turning pro in 2010.

A few weeks ago Burmester won the Zimbabwe Open, finished third in both the Tshwane Open and last weeks’ Zambia Sugar Open, as well as finished 7th in the Investec Cup.

With over R1,9 million in earning from his 8 events this season, the player is heading to the Mauritius Open full of confidence.

While the player wants to focus on the Sunshine and will attempt earning his European Tour card later this year, he told OFM Sport that he has dreams to play at the Olympics, with golf making a coming in Rio de Janeiro next year.

The Mauritius Open at the Heritage Course tees off on Thursday.
