Italy’s Francesco Molinari is the early leader at the BMW PGA Championship following an opening round of seven under par 65 to lead by two shots.

The players carded a bogey-free round to in perfect conditions to take the sole lead at the tournament and course which has always been kind to him.
 
The humble 32-year-old said he happy with his opening round at the European Tour’s flagship event but warn that it doesn’t get won of the first day.
 
"I love this place, I've played very well here the last few years and it's very good to be back," said the former Ryder Cup player.
 
"I think I missed only one green. It rewards accuracy more than others so it suits my game," the Italian added.
 
Sweden’s Robert Karlsson is a further two shot back in 2nd on 5 under par, while Jorge Campillo, Chris Wood, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Y.E Yang and Marc Warren are all in tied third on 4 under par.
 
Two holes-in-one where hit yesterday with Englishman Andrew “Beef” Johnson and Scot Craig Lee hitting the mark.
Johnson celebrated his ace with a chest-bump which may go down as one of the wildest celebrations in golf. Following his round of player known as beef for his big physique spoke of his celebration.
 
"It took one bounce and hit the flag and went straight in. It just happened so quick, so I didn't really know what to do," the big Brit said.
 
"I just saw him. He looked and I was like, 'All right, now is the time to go," Beef added.
