South Africa’s Kevin Anderson has advanced to the third round of Wimbledon following a hard fought four set win over Turkey’s Marsel Ilhan.
The 14th seeded South African battled temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius plus has he had to come back from a set down.
Ilhan, won the first set in a tie-break, before Anderson survived four set points in the second to make his comeback.
The first services break came in the third set when the big serving Anderson broke Ilhan to close out the match.
Anderson clinched the match with 6-7, 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 win to set up a date with the 24th seeded Argentine, Leonardo Mayer.
Fifth seed, Kei Nishikori of Japan has withdrawn from the grand slam after failing to recover from a calf injury.
World number ones, Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams, as well as Stanislas Wawrinka, Milos Roanic, Maria Sharapova and Victoria Azarenka are all though.
