Why we are for sterilization and anti-breeding:

We know that not everyone is informed about the sad overpopulation situation and that many animal welfare organizations attack people without explaining the situation. We don't want to attack people for breeding. We would rather like to inform them and, in this way, try to make a difference in the lives of animals. We work with animals every day and what we see is absolutely terrifying. Our animal shelter is ALWAYS filled to the brim with every breed you can think of. Many of these dogs are pedigree dogs that were initially bought from breeders. There simply aren't enough good homes for the number of pets on earth. The reason why we do not support breeding of pets is that the breeding problem does not stop with breeders. Many people who buy dogs from breeders do not sterilise their pets, which then results in many unwanted puppies. Did you know that one female dog and her offspring can produce up to 67 000 dogs in just six years? The majority of these dogs end up as unwanted pets. This is why we always say that breeding takes away a home from a shelter pet that has been waiting with the hope of finding a home. When you buy a dog from a breeder or when your dog gets puppies, you take away the chance of a shelter pet of being adopted, and when those dogs or their offspring end up in shelters, the chance of other shelter pets getting adopted gets even more slim. Thousands of pets have to be euthanized because of this. In essence, breeding does not only contribute to the overpopulation problem, but it also kills shelter pets. We want all 'second hand' pets to have a chance on finding a family and it can only happen if pet owners do the responsible thing and sterilize their pets. (Even if it means that you have to save for 6 months to afford it - it is the right thing to do!)
And this is why we beg of the public to sterilize their pets and help us to make a difference! Every pet sterilized, means that there are 67 000 more chances for shelter pets to find homes. It also means that 67 000 less dogs will end up as possible strays, in bad homes or merely dumped along the side of the road... This is why we are trying to change your mind regarding breeding and sterilizing. We know it is expensive to sterilize a pet, but if everybody could SEE the difference it makes, they would save up! If everybody had a chance to look a shelter pet in the eye, they would make a plan!
We want you to save our shelter pets' lives and to give them a chance by fighting against the huge overpopulation problem. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. We hope
you will find it in your heart to help us fight for animals and to sterilize your pet. Have a wonderful day!!
