Greyton - As the world prepares itself to celebrate International Plastic Bag-Free Day tomorrow, the small town of Greyton in the Western Cape will become the first town in the country to be completely plastic bag free.
The Greyton Transition Town chairperson, Nicola Vernon, says it’s their way of making sure they contribute towards saving the environment.
Vernon added that in order for them to be able to become the first town to ban the use of plastic bags, their community needed to buy into the concept. She says with any new idea, comes resistance.
