Bloemfontein -The Roseview Primary School celebrated its 20th anniversary on Tuesday. Celebrations started with a coin collage ceremony outside. Then all roads lead to the rugby field where balloons were released into the air.
What’s a birthday without a cake and bunch of balloons? Children enjoyed the celebrations with a piece of cake and a cold drink. Parents were also in attendance to witness as the school remembered where everything started.
The school was established in January 1994 under the name Van Kerken Primary School. It was a model D school, situated in Eeufees Road in Bloemspruit. It started with six teachers, a principal and 165 learners, from gr.1 to gr.3. It was renamed Roseview Primary in July the same year.
One of the founding staff members, Elma Theunissen, head of the foundation phase department and teacher at the school, said the school had grown tremendously since then.
Theunissen said the school will always live up to its motto, Firmly Forward. Wayne Cicilie, the school principal, added that the school would continue giving learners a good education.
